Our English as a Second Language (ESL) classes increase the English proficiency of refugees and immigrants, allowing them to become more active, integrated members of the community.

Improving English Proficiency

The ESL & Life Skills program works daily with adult English language learners.

• Classes are kept small to enhance student/teacher interaction
• Open enrollment allows students to sign up whenever they are ready
• 3 levels of courses offered, ranging from pre-literate to high intermediate
• Classes either free or low cost
• Civics, financial literacy, and other life-skills instruction integrated

Flexible Class Schedules

RIC-AAU downtown office

ESL classes, Monday-Friday, 9am-12pm
Computer classes, Monday-Friday, 12:20pm-2:30pm
Evening ESL classes, Friday, 3pm-6pm
Citizenship classes also available

New Job preparation class, Mondays & Wednesdays, 3pm-5pm, March 4th-June 3rd

Sunnyvale Neighborhood Center

ESL classes, Monday-Friday, 9am-12pm*
Computer classes, Friday, 9am-12pm*
Evening ESL classes, Tueday/Thursday, 6:30pm-8:30pm
*Childcare provided for children ages 2-5
